Freelance Translators from Scratch

Thanks mainly to the generosity of fellow freelance translators and/or readers of this blog, here is some info on how to find volunteer translation gigs:

1. From Céline at Naked Translations: “I give a number of volunteer translation sites on my links page (http://www.nakedtranslations.com/en/links.php). It should be a good starting point.”
2. From Nicolas at Another Word: “I do recommend some volunteer work. You can apply at http://www.onlinevolunteering.org/. I have done some translation works and I work now for Greenpeace. You can also contact directly NGOs, non for profit organizations, etc. If you can read French, my blog about translation features some articles on volunteer jobs.
